[Bug optimization/9805] optimisation of largish array constant containing strings takes forever(?) and consumes very large amounts of memory

Reading specs from
/home/Gareth/gcctest-mainline/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-cygwin/3.4/specs
Configured with: ../gcc/configure --prefix=/home/Gareth/gcctest-mainline
--enable-version-specific-runtime-libs --enable-threads=posix --enable-shared
Thread model: posix
gcc version 3.4 20030520 (experimental)

athlon tbird 1.33ghz - 1gig ram
284meg and 7:24minutes, has not completed.

I'll try again with latest cvs - after i bootstrap a few other copies of gcc i
need to work on first.
