Hello,

I believe there were a number of issues with glibc 2.3 that were fixed in gcc 3.2.3. Could you try that version, and if that fails, submit a bug report, along with relevant information (configure options, preprocessed source that crashes, etc.).

P.S. I don't think you should need -Dinhibit_libc in your CFLAGS, and that may indeed be causing problems.
