Now with the .tar.
The instructions for the bug reports are not very
clear when it come to the GIJ but here is what I have:
Attached is a .tar containig the .java and .class
files. It does not matter what compiled the .class files. If you run FishDump
with GIJ it will try to read a file from /usr/local with the name info. The
first run should report that the file cannot be read it then writes the file to
disk. The second run should report nothing, indicating a sucessful read.
In GIJ it always fails to read. It is writing
correctly but not reading. If you run the program in java (IBM jdk 1.1.8) it
reports nothing indicating a good read on the file written under the GIJ run.
What is triggering the failed read is the line that
reads:
Printer pnt = new Printer();
If you remove this it works
fine.
While looking for errors in source code I
found that if you check for null just prior to returning to main something is
stored in the object. It is failing to be passed back to main. I even tied
creating a set method and setting it with no luck.
I have compile this down to Linux source and
the problem is the same without GIJ.
Thanks,
Doug Parsons
