>Description:
A compile error results when gcc have been configured with:

../gcc-3.2.1/configure --prefix=/static --enable-languages=c --enable-threads=posix --disable-nls --disable-shared --target=i486-pc-linux-gnu

uname -m reports i686 on my system. The last few lines of the compile output have been attached.

Configure with the options shown and do:

echo "#define HAVE_GAS_HIDDEN 1" > gcc/autohost.h && \
make -j 1 BOOT_LDFLAGS=-static bootstrap

in your gcc-build directory.
