Cygwin with Cygwin1.dll version 1.3.2.
Compiler used for building - GCC 2.95.3
Build machine used - HP Vectra VLI8 with 256 MB of memory and 60 GB of hard drive space.
Operating system - Windows 2000 Professional with service pack 2.
>Description:
I am trying to build a cross compiler for sparc-elf with the GCC 3.1 source snapshot (04-23-2002). I use the following configure options to configure the build.

../src/configure --build=i686-pc-cygwin32 --host=i686-pc-cygwin32 --target=sparc-elf --nfp --with-cpu=v8 --prefix=../bin/sparc-elf

I also modified the Makefile generated by configure for GCC by using the following line (while TARGET_LIBGCC2_CFLAGS is empty in the original Makefile created by configure). I do this due to our special needs at work.

TARGET_LIBGCC2_CFLAGS = -mflat -mv8 -fleading-underscore

The GCC backends and frontends build without any problems until when the process gets to the point of building libgcc. Then the following error comes up. I get the same result if I switch to use an older release of the GCC 3 source (like version 3.0.4). Only if I leave TARGET_LIBGCC2_CFLAGS equal to empty within the GCC Makefile will libgcc be built successfully.

make[1]: *** [libgcc/./_clear_cache.o] Error 1
>How-To-Repeat:
This can be duplicated consistenly as long as TARGET_LIBGCC2_CFLAGS is set to "-mflat -mv8 -fleading-underscore" when building a GCC 3.x cross compiler for sparc-elf.
