I reopened this PR.
I got the following e-mail from bkoz many
months ago, and try to follow this procedure with regard
to closing bug reports with feedback not received. Any bug tracking
system should definitely try to age out bug reports where feedback
is not provided after many months of waiting.
I have no problem re-opening closed bug reports if further feedback
or clarification about the bug is provided.

general rule is, if it's been in feedback for two weeks and nobody's
bothered replying, close it. Some of the bugs listed, like the SMP bugs
with string, should be closed too because we've pretty much reached closure.
