Hi,
First, tons of thanks for making this wonderful tool
available to all of us for free !!
I downloaded GCC 3.0 and successfully built binaries
(In the first pass, some of executables were not built at all.
So I did it one more time and it worked. I don't know how...)
However, I got into some difficulty when I tried to install GCC 3.0. First,
I used the "e:/..." notation to specify the prefix and local prefix (e.g.,
e:/GCC) GCC make script was not happy about it and complaint that it cannot
create directories. So, I changed them to "//e/GCC" and worked.
The second problem that I had is for some reason the directory of
//e/GCC/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-cygwin/3.0 was not properly created. I manutaly
created it and ran 'make install' again and was able to succesfully finish
the installation.
I don't know these are bugs, but I thought I better report them to you. FYI
these are my system configuration.
HP Kayak XU-a with Pentium III
Windows-NT with CygWin 1.3.2
I believe i used gcc 2.95.3-5 (cygwin special) to build the
stage1 compiler.
regards,
Wooyoung Kim
