Well, since GCC 2.95.2 is from late 1999, it's not really the envelope
anymore.  :-)  Still, I remember from newsgroup discussions that your
customers' requirements are stability over cutting-edge, so I won't pressure
you to try one of the development snapshots.

The code you gave compiles using current development sources, so you will
be able to do that in GCC 3.0 (planned for around April).  Also a 2.95.3
bugfix is scheduled soon; I don't have those sources handy so I can't say
whether the bug still occurs there.
