Get yourself gcc-2.95.3.test2 and apply _one_ of the patches (the smaller 
one is the minimum patch needed for glibc, the bigger one contains 
additional PPC specific fixes) available at 
<ftp://devel.linuxppc.org/users/fsirl/>
