This is a known incompatibility between GCC 2.95.2 and glibc 2.2. A
patch to fix this problem was posted numerous times to various GCC
mailing lists in the past few weeks. Please look for a message posted
on Nov 2 by Jakub Jelinek in gcc-patches; it contains all the changes
you need to build GCC with glibc 2.2.
I posted a patch for the web pages to make the patch easily
downloadable, but it hasn't been approved yet.
