Hi!
I got a bug report request from gcc on the following code.
It seems to be target specific, i. e. arm-cc1 says
internal compilation error, intel-cc1 seems to be fine.
Kompilation platform is Linux.
> uname -a
Linux Finke 2.0.36 #2 Sun Nov 28 23:00:17 CET 1999 i686 unknown
> cat gccbug.c
void foo (void)
{
asm ("bne %0" : : "r" (*&&here));
here:
}
> .../Linux2-6/lib/gcc-lib/arm-aout/2.95.2/cc1 -quiet -dumpbase -mapcs-32 -msoft-float -g -O2 -Wall -Werror -W -Wno-format -Wwrite-strings -Wpointer-arith -Wshadow -Wmissing-prototypes -Wnested-externs -Wmissing-declarations -Wstrict-prototypes -version -fno-builtin -fcall-saved-r10 -o gccbug.s gccbug.c
GNU C version 2.95.2 19991024 (release) (arm-aout) compiled by GNU C version 2.7.2.3.
cc1: warnings being treated as errors
gccbug.c:2: warning: no previous prototype for `foo'
gccbug.c: In function `foo':
gccbug.c:3: Internal compiler error in `emit_move_insn', at expr.c:2593
Please submit a full bug report.

Kind regards, Thomas
PS: I wonder how the label in the example above is correctly passed
to the bne instruction. Writing the label into an asm () does not
work, because cc1 then believes the code behind it cannot be reached,
as in:
asm ("bne here");
...
return;
asm ("here:");
asm ("...");
