"make bootstrap4-lean" did work. Had no time to check further tho.

The host compilers where from Red Hat 6.9.5: Both kgcc-1.1.2-39
(egcs-1.1.2) and gcc-2.96-46 have failed bootstrap-lean
(binutils-2.10.0.24-1 from HJLu's sources).
