Broken .hidden support in current binutils on ia32

As the .hidden support is broken in current binutils, I'd like to have a
configure test to automatically disable the use in GCC. Does anybody have an
idea how to do such a test? If no has an idea, I'll add a switch configure
to make it possible to disable that support.
