Problems compiling GCC on Dynix/ptx 4.4.7

Hi,

i'm having difficulties compiling GCC 2.95.2 on a Sequent Dynix/ptx 4.4.7
server. I've trawled the internet and checked the bug and help files in
ftp-mailing-list-archives.gnu.org/mailing-lists and found nothing of help.

The configure command runs with no problems, and i've tried it without and
with the --language-enable=objc option in an attempt to get it to compile
the whole of GCC as well as just the C compiler itself.

The problem starts when i run the make bootstrap command after running the
configure. I get the exact same error whether i use the Sequent version of
make or your own version (3.79) which i've installed succesfully. The errors
being:-

"/home/neil/gcc-2.95.2/gcc/collect2.c", line 364: undefined symbol:
_sys_siglist
"/home/neil/gcc-2.95.2/gcc/collect2.c", line 364: cannot dereference

make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/neil/gcc/gcc'
make[1]: *** [bootstrap] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/neil/gcc/gcc'
make: *** [bootstrap] Error 2

Apart from your version of make, i've also failed to install other
downloaded source such as SSH and RDIST. This gives me the impression that
there's something inherently wrong here. :o(

If you can help me out here it would be greatly appreciated. And if i've
missed something in the distribution then i will accept a terse RTFM reply.

Thanks in advance,

Neil
