This is a new failure, which appears both on my Solaris and FreeBSD
boxes, none of which have autoconf & Co installed. I'm using gcc_update,
but this doesn't help in this case:
Bootstrapping the compiler
gmake[1]: Entering directory `/files/pfeifer/OBJ-2205-20:04/gcc'
cd /sw/test/gcc/gcc/gcc; autoconf
/bin/sh: autoconf: not found
gmake[1]: *** [/sw/test/gcc/gcc/gcc/configure] Error 1
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/files/pfeifer/OBJ-2205-20:04/gcc'
gmake: *** [bootstrap] Error 2
