I have converted Richard Jones' fine-grain bounds-checker to work with
egcs-20000110. The patches against egcs are about 1.5 MB uncompressed
(because I included all of the original postscript documentation).
The bzip2 version is about 700 MB and uuencoded it is about 1 MB.
I have tested them under SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 using sco cc to bootstrap.
Under Linux 2.0.35, checked programs get errors; I think that
the POINTER_IN_DLL macro in gcc/bounds/lib/check.h needs tuning.
The patches are also available by ftp through the URL
<A HREF="ftp://nscs.fast.net/pub/binaries/boundschecking"> Bounds Checking Patches</A>
The server has a dial-up PPP line, so the download will take about 5 minutes.
I can email the uuencoded patches on request, although I might be out of
the office for the next three or four weeks.
My changes are freely copyable, and I can have the necessary paperwork filled
out, but for now, it doesn't matter since Richard Jones has not released the
copyright of his original work to the FSF.
