This is simply not true. GDB 4.18 was released in early 1999 and
version 5 is actively worked on.

I'm using GDB on Windows and even on (God forbid!) MS-DOS, and I'm not
aware of any missing features. What exactly do you miss in the
Windows version, and what Windows port you are (were) using?
It is, of course, possible that your bug report wasn't taken care of
because of some oversight; perhaps you could submit it again. I would
suggest first to see if the bug is still there, though.
