Internal error on char *const assign

The following program gives
gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 6
when compiled with -O2 with egcs-1.0.3:

int
main(void)
{
    char *const s = "Hello!";
    s[0] = 0;

    return 0;
}
