I have added your patch to my installation of revision 150798. It has
compiled HIRLAM (http://hirlam.org/) flawlessly - the resulting code has
now run for two "cycles" (a cycle is a complete forecast - we perform 4
per day) on my machine at moene.org.
As far as I can see all is OK (it doesn't provide a measurable speedup
over here, but that's minor).
