weird behaviour

Hi all.

I'm experiencing a very weird (I think) behaviour of my program.

I have a variable that is supposed to be computed be a function that I call
from my main program.
This variable is properly declared at the baginning of the function.

But if I try to do anything with this variable (within the function) (
either print it or much worse, when I try to use it for my computations),
the program stops, without any error messages.

SInce it is the first time I see such a strange behaviour, I was wondering
if it as normal!

I'm using version gcc 4.3.0 20070724 (experimental).

Thanks a lot.
