I have created a Google Group for gfortran called
"gfort" http://groups.google.com/group/gfort. I would
like it to mirror the gfortran mailing list. For this
to occur, the email address
gfort-garchive-62793@googlegroups.com needs to be
added to list of subscribers to the gfortran mailing
list. There is an automated way to join the gfortran
mailing list, but I could not use it for the gfort
email address because I am unable to send mail from
that address. I emailed the postmaster of this group
but did not receive a reply.
I raised the topic of a Google Group to mirror this
list in an earlier thread
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/fortran/2006-10/msg00692.html .
I took the steps Steve Kargl suggested but did not
receive any response.
I think having a Google Groups mirror for gfortran
would be convenient and could encourage some people
who already use Google Groups to join gfortran
dicussions. If the mirror ever caused problems, the
gfort group could be unsubscribed from the gfortran
mailing list.
If no one takes action to subscribe the gfort group to
this list (I have tried), I will take the hint and
drop this effort -- no big deal.
