Subject: [v3] check-parallel fixes

This fixes the LD_LIBRARY_PATH issue (#2) noticed here:
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/libstdc++/2007-09/msg00046.html

To fix the issue with #3, libgomp will have to be configured/built
before libstdc++. That patch is pending.
