Thanks for the pointer, I didn't remember that (closed) PR. Then, as far 
as the C++ library is concerned, there isn't much more to say than Danny 
Smith' Comment #2: as I told you already, it's a MingW specific issue, 
which should be fixed by the MingW maintainers (or MingW contributors, 
of course).
