Usually the domain of the function in question with possible extensions there of is given explicitly where such a function is in use.

"There is no reasonable mathematical
value ..." is just another way of saying the same thing, and is a
perfectly reasonable statement.

Last time I checked I missed the definition of what a mathematical value is.
'Just know about numbers as values you know...
