Mark wanted 3.4.1 tested...  Looks great!  Seen in make check log:

[...] undefined reference to
`std::__basic_file<char>::sys_open(__sFILE*, std::_Ios_Openmode)'

Anyone willing to claim this?  If not claimed, then I'll work on it
later today.  My working theory is a simple missing symbol export.
