it looks like you checked in some changes related to this issue?
unfortunately, they don't seem to be working... I've attached my
libstdc++-v3 config.log if that's any help, but it appears to be the
same behavior...

It looks like it's still trying to invoke 'ld' to link something,
which, even if the 'gcc/ld' symlink existed, can't be expected to work
(no libgloss specified, in this case, and no "correct" one necessarily
*to* specify.)
