staging headers patch onto 3-branch?

Things seem to be going well WRT the staging headers. We'd planned to let
things simmer on the trunk "over the weekend" before moving to the branch,
but then the glibcpp_srcdir/cheaders thing happened.
It's been simmering for about 10 days now. Are there any objections to
applying the original 13July patch and the 16July cheaders patch to the
3.0 branch tomorrow afternoon?
(Minor policy question: Do the ChangeLog entries get copied verbatim?
The "reversion" on the 16th doesn't apply for the branch, for example.)
(Another question: anything on the trunk that shouldn't be merged into
the branch for 3.0.1? The divergence of the ChangeLogs is more than
I'd realized.)
