The manual does seem to recommend using the flag in certain instances.
Shall I go ahead and check in the patch, with a comment pointing out the
c_std-only problem? Or do we want to try and address that first?
Would I had phrases that are not known, utterances that are strange, in
new language that has not been used, free from repetition, not an utterance
which has grown stale, which men of old have spoken.
