sorry folks, I was trying to not completely change things again this week.
And the good news is that I haven't.
;)
Still, there is a large bit of config hackery that will go down in a bit
(one that will not cause me to rewrite the install docs, FWIW) -- so
please, no config/automake checkins.
Sorry for the delay, more road construction ahead.

(ps is anybody interested in detailed instructions on building v3 with
powerpc-elf or (strongarm-elf) or under cygwin, or should I just let this
lie...)
