I don't know what you mean by "developer-unfriendly". I'm describing
how people who don't get paid are working on free software projects.
Find another project where porting to a new environment is difficult
and try to interest the developers in spending their time on your
problem. This is how it works in most cases. If you don't like it
try to change it. But start where the problem is (the "unwillingness"
to help without self-interest) and not with the symptoms (nobody
helping you in this situation). I'm really interested in seeing how
you can solve this "problem", honestly, it will be of great help for
everybody.
