Problems linking against libstdc++

Hi,

I've got a modified SuSE 6.0 system. Originally it came with glibc 2.07
and egcs 1.0.3(?). Since installing the system I've upgraded to glibc
2.1, gcc 2.95 (egcs snapshot 180799) and the current libstdc++.
Recently, trying to compile kde CVS i've been having problems with
certain sections of code failing to link to functions which are present
in libstdc++.so.3, c_logf, c_log, iofstream::* and others. I read the
glibc2.1 FAQ which suggested that libstdc++ and ncurses would have to be
recompiled due to changes, additionally the libstdc++ FAQ points out
that this isn't just a drop in replacement for the version that comes
with gcc/egcs. I tried following the instructions there about addind -I
and -L paths to the compile paths with no success. Any pointers to what
I'm doing wrong would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
James

PS CCed replies to my personal address would be appreciated since I'm
not on the mailing list.
