Thanks for tackling this Matthias.  Good luck, and we'll be around to
help if you run into problems :-)

Looking through the classpath NEWS file, it doesn't look like we will
need major updates.  But it is sometimes hard to predict.

For backports we put most of the Changelog entries directly in
classpath/ChangeLog.  Perhaps a mistake.  Anyway that file can be
overwritten as far as I am concerned
