- Subject: help with getting gcj and gij up for testing
Dear all,
I need help in getting gcc 4.1 with java plus awt and swing running for
testing. I would like to see whether my imagining applications can be
compiled and run with GCC, and if not, why, and submit bug reports and
patches if I can.
But to do this I need a working gcc 4.1 with java and so far I've failed. My
main OSes are kubuntu-ppc, which doesn't have GCC 4.1 in the repositories
(Dapper is delayed), and FreeBSD 4.1, which does, but apparently GCC 4.1 gets
compiled without awt and/or swing (when using the ports).
So what is the best way, what tutorial is available, what commands do I need
to get the gcc-4.1.0.tar.bz2 source code to get compiled with java, with AWT
and with swing, for testing? So far I got no swing, and the gij freezes in
kubuntu-ppc. So which setup is know to be working? I need to get started
somewhere.
