- Subject: rfc cairo API update for 4.0.3
Hello Tom,
I heared about complaints gcc-4.0.x not being able to build with cairo
>=0.5. I can confirm since I run cairo-1.0.2 :)
The rfc I have now, would it make sense to 'backport' the cairo bits to
4.0.x ? Or shall we simply say nop?
The pros are that distros complain, so we could calm them down :)
Regarding build issues.
The cons is, from my opinion, that there is still a lot of stuff
incomplete/broken. Real usable gui stuff is present in 4.1.x ;)
Comments?
I'd do this 'backport' but I'd need to know if the effort is worth.
If yes, how far should this bp go? Only functionality or also gtk+-2.8.x
updates (API, deprecated stuff and the like)
Thanks,
Andreas
