I scanned it back when Hannes wrote the comment - it look ok to me, but ofcourse I haven't compiled gcc that way, either, so what do I know...Actually the page people need is probablygcc.gnu.org is down right now so I can't check, but from memory that page is very out of date.

I think it would be really valuable to get people to use the Wiki, yes. Many of the questions I pose on the mailinglist end up in "my own" (future company employee) document. Instead these could end up in a wiki faq...You're quite right, though, the GCJ web pages are badly in need of an overhaul. One solution, perhaps, would be to move a lot of the existing content over to the wiki, where it can more easily be kept up to date.
