Michal, sorry, I cried for help too early.
When I started collecting error data, I first checked the version of gcj I
was using and it was an OLD one (2.95.3!). After I removed the old gcj
stuff from /usr/local, the current version was used and everything works
great (a few warnings about deprecated things but not gcj related).
