This one is fixed now thanks to:

2001-11-09  Jakub Jelinek  <jakub@redhat.com>

        * cfgrtl.c (purge_dead_edges): Remove REG_EH_REGION note for insns
        which cannot throw.

But there is a whole new failure now due to dwarf2asm changes, but I 
don't think those affect i686.
