I am using gcj from the gcc-20010108 snapshot.
Perhaps, the syntax is wrong:
gcj -o main --encoding=utf-8 --main=hello hello.java
cc1: Unrecognized option `-fencoding=utf-8'
There is no --encoding switch documented either.
