What would be really groovey is if we had a Swing type library that was
equally callable from both
C++ and Java.    The original poster is completely right, Swing would be
an excellent replacement
for GTK and or Qt.

If this project could be developed as a library that is useable by both
the Java and C++ crowds, the
adoption rate could be very high.     Lets face it as good as Java is,
it is not suitable for all applications
or all customers.    From a programmers point of view though having the
same tools available in both
languages should make his tasks much easier.    Further having a C++
based toolkit would mean that
older C based toolkits can be phased out in favor of new technology.
