An email is quite in order by then, or even sooner.
I'd really like to find a way to eliminate long periods like this when
development is being inhibited by fairly trivial breakages.
I agree with your concern, and more automated regression testing is
needed. Still, if you're not a Java developer, can this breakage
really be said to inhibit development? I do understand the annoyance,
though, because you don't know whether to tweak your build script
temporarily to disable Java, or hope it will get fixed soon. I've
been in similar situations.
