Yep, this is the symptom of what appears to be a random bug in
Solaris' /bin/sh, that puts its ugly head out every now and then. I
mentioned this problem on Sunday. The known workarounds are setting
CONFIG_SHELL=/bin/ksh or wiping out target_dir/config.cache.
