Yes, for global pointers, but in GIMPLE we do not have 'deeper'
pointers.  Unless I'm misunderstanding you.  By 'deep pointers' you
mean 'foo->ptr1->ptr2'?  There are no memory expressions of that kind
in GIMPLE.
