Don't even dare use those binutils. Those are not the official binutils
at all. Those are HJL's crazy patched binutils which most of the time
don't work anyways. I really Hate how people tell others to use them.
Anyways the current released binutils version is 2.17 which can be
grabbed from http://www.sourceware.org/binutils/.
