gcc 3.4.3 installed succefully on Debian 3.0 i586-pc-linux-gnu linux-2.4.27 libc6-2.2.5

Hi,
today i have successfully installed gcc-3.4.3 from
full distribution source on my Pentium200 running
Debian 3.0r2 (woody) kernel-2.4.27.

Now i m going to update my glibc and i wonder if i
should compile gcc as static-linked or share library,
would someone help me ?
i have read glibc-howto on tldp, but found no answer
there.
Thanks.
