As an additional note, whenever you have an issue with the FreeBSD system
compiler, please give the corresponding gcc port a try (devel/gcc34 in
this case), which is usually more up-to-date.
If you can reproduce the problem with the compiler from the FreeBSD ports
collection, the bug is relevant for the GCC developers and you should file
a GCC bug report via the URL mentioned before.
If the problem does not occur when you use the compiler from the FreeBSD
ports collection, you should file a bug against the FreeBSD system
compiler with the FreeBSD developers (noting that it does not occur with
the compiler from the ports collection).
