gcc installation problem

Hi ,
I am trying to install gcc version 3.4.1 on my system. When i do
make bootstrap, or make, the same things get printed again and again
..with message like Creating Makefile, it gets into some kind of loop. Can
someone pls figure out what the prolem is ?
