Dear Various,
now solved! I was about to reply
to this effect. As it happens, I was using a
web interface to the key-servers, as I only
needed a few keys, but no matter.
I wasted a bit of time trying to find how
to associate the rather anonymous-looking
public keys with their owners, only to find
that I need only import the signature files
into gpg and the information is all there.
I wasn't helped by the fact that 50% of all
on-line references refer to the MIT server
pgp.mit.edu under its old domain name
pgp.ai.mit.edu, which no longer works,
the other 50% to a Dutch server which seems
not to have any of the keys I want (!).
Good grief...
Yours faithfully,
Bernard Leak.
