As others have pointed out, our rules are not about saving any given
individual time, but achieving the best result (in terms of quality
and developer time) for the community at large.

I'm afraid we cannot change the rules, BUT if you have any specific
comments on lack of documentation, clarity of documentation, or length
of documentation (shorter is often better) thereof on our web site,
I'd be most happy to hear these and help improve that.

Today's mainline is tomorrow's released product, and I know that this
is of high relevance to your employer. :-)
