I checked in a typo fix backported for mainline (not a regression, but a rejects-valid-code for Altivec). The testcase in mainline is in the AltiVec testsuite, backporting that stuff would be quite big for 3.4, I guess.

Yes, let's not do that. Sounds like a good judgement call on your part.
