GCC Status Report (2004-02-05)

GCC 3.4
=======

There are 87 regressions open against GCC 3.4, which is a big
improvement over the 106 from the last time I prepared a status
report.[1] Of these, 22 are C++ -- down from 30.  There are 11
wrong-code bugs, which are of course the most important. There are 25
ice-on-valid-code bugs.

There are a lot of open bugs that are assigned to people -- but many
of those bugs seem to have been in that state for a long time. If
your name appears in the URL given in [2], I am counting on you to fix
the bugs assigned to you -- and soon!

GCC 3.5
=======

The SC accepted the proposal for merging tree-ssa, and the tree-ssa
team is working on their end of that. It's hard to predict yet how
that will come out. At this point, GCC 3.5 remains in Stage 1 -- but
please clear potentially disruptive changes through the tree-ssa
people.

Footnotes
=========

[1] I'm searching for regressions by looking for "3.4" in the subject
line and a "target" field of 3.3.3, 3.3.4, or 3.4. Here is the URL:
